EQUIP People is looking for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a well-established food manufacturing operation in Upper Hutt.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, supporting their team, solving problems and keeping production on track.
You'll be responsible for shift performance, safety, quality, labour utilisation and team development, while helping maintain high standards across a busy manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of production staff
- Building a strong culture of safety, food quality and accountability
- Monitoring production KPIs including output, waste, yield, labour efficiency and plan attainment
- Supporting production planning, batching and changeovers
- Troubleshooting operational issues and working with engineering and quality teams
- Managing staffing, attendance, training and capability development
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and performance
-Ensuring production targets are achieved without compromising safety or quality
What We're Looking For
- Previous leadership experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar production environment
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems and health & safety
- Experience managing production targets and operational KPIs
- Hands-on leadership style with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
-Practical approach with a continuous improvement mindset
What's On Offer
- $85,000-$90,000 per annum depending on experience
