We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join a highly respected machinery business based in Hastings.
This position offers a varied mix of workshop-based repairs and field service work, supporting customers across a range of specialised machinery and equipment.
You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing advanced hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and electronically controlled systems.
The role requires a high level of technical expertise, strong fault-finding ability, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out mechanical servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and engine faults
- Providing workshop and field service support
- Reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics
- Maintaining machinery to a high professional standard
- Delivering exceptional customer service
- Assisting with light engineering and fabrication work as required
- Proven mechanical service and maintenance experience
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience working with hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to understand technical manuals, hydraulic diagrams, and schematics
- Trade qualification in heavy diesel, mobile plant, mechanical engineering, or similar (preferred)
- Reliable, self-motivated, and professional
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
