EQUIP People are recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a busy Wellington-based food manufacturing operation.
This role is focused on preventative maintenance, breakdown response, fault finding and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across plant and production equipment.
Duties include:
- Carrying out preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
- Responding to machinery breakdowns and plant faults
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues and supporting plant reliability
- Maintaining conveyors, pumps, motors, bearings, gears, pneumatics and related equipment
- Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects
- Completing maintenance records and engineering documentation accurately
- Maintaining strong health & safety and food safety standards
- Participating in an after-hours on-call roster when required
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant trade background
- Strong industrial maintenance and fault-finding experience
- Experience working within food manufacturing or FMCG environments highly regarded
- Good understanding of GMP and food safety standards
- Welding experience beneficial (TIG exposure advantageous)
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and safety focused approach
