This is hands-on work for people who enjoy being active, take pride in doing a good day's work and aren't afraid to get stuck in. You'll be supporting experienced tradespeople, helping keep sites organised and safe and carrying out general labouring duties as required.
We're looking for people who turn up on time, follow instructions and bring a positive attitude to the job.
Previous construction experience is an advantage but reliability and a willingness to work hard are just as important.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting builders, carpenters and other tradespeople
- Loading, unloading and moving materials around site
- Preparing work areas and helping with site set-up
- General site clean-up and waste removal
- Digging trenches and assisting with basic groundworks
- Helping with concrete preparation and pours
- Using hand and power tools safely
- Assisting with demolition and strip-out work when required
- Erecting and dismantling temporary fencing and site barriers
- Following site health and safety procedures
- Identifying and reporting hazards
- Completing tasks as directed by site supervisors
What We're Looking For
- Current Site Safe Passport - essential
- Minimum Restricted NZ Driver Licence
- Own reliable transport to get to and from work sites
- Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Clean Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check
- Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and repetitive manual work
- Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions
- Strong work ethic and a safety-conscious attitude
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Legal right to work in New Zealand
Experience with hand and power tools is also beneficial.
